This exhibition presents 24 graphite drawings completed by Ellen Shea in early 2025. Set to the poems by the German Romantic poet Wilhelm Müller, Winterreise, composed by Franz Schubert in 1827, is a masterpiece of German Romanticism. Inspired by Schubert’s song cycle, this drawing series depicts the songs’ emotions transposed onto the winter landscapes around the medieval village Noyers-sur-Serein in Burgundy, France.
